Paintings: Old Town Flowers

Painting on a rice paper
Ink and mineral pigments
Size: ~34.5x69 cm / ~13.6x27 inches

Moulded on another layer of paper, not framed

This is a painting in traditional Japanese (sumi-e) technique, featuring traditional Japanese Chrysanthemums (Kiku) on an old European city. Handpainted on highest quality rice paper in ink and Japanese mineral pigments, mounted (stretched on another layer of rice paper), NOT framed. Signed and stamped with my personal seal.  This is NOT a print or a reproduction, this is my original artwork. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. Shipped in a protective packaging. Free shipping anywhere in the world.

I am passionate about the ancient Orient art, but this time I used its technique to depict flowers outside of my window in Budapest, Hungary. I like the result very much and I think the mix of cultures works very well in this picture. The Chrysanthemum is a symbol that represents longevity and rejuvenation in Japanese culture, so I find this picture highly symbolic and expressive, yet very decorative. It is quite large and will look great in any interior as a wall decor.
