Morning glory (or Asagao as it is known in Japan) is one of my favourite flowers to paint, as I find them very expressve and highly symbolic. In the Victorian meaning of flowers, morning glory flowers signify love, affection or mortality. In Chinese folklore, they represent a single day for lovers to meet. They also represent the month of September and 11th wedding anniversaries. But above all, for me it's a memory of summer and a symbol of simple joys of life!
