Sumi-e Pine Landscape Painting: Japanese Ink Art with Basho Haiku

Original hand painted pine landscape in Japanese sumi-e style, ink on rice paper.

This artwork contains a calligraphy of a famous haiku of Japanese classic poet Matsuo Basho, that reads:

松風の 落葉か 水の音 涼し

[matsukaze no ochiba ka mizu no oto suzushi]

Wind among the pines— leaves falling, or is that cool water's splash?

This combination of visual and poetic elements reflects the transient beauty and harmony of nature, characteristic of sumi-e tradition. The finished painting is stamped with my personal seal, "Mountains and Water" seal and "Harmony" seal, all hand-carved by myself.
