This is an original painting of a bamboo made in Japanese golden ink on black rice paper in sumi-e technique.

Size 20×41 cm = 8×16 inches

Simple and unadorned, the bamboo is symbolic of purity and innocence, but also of strength and prosperity. This is one of the favourite plants in traditional oriental painting and a recurring subject in my sumi-e artworks.

This painting is mounted (stretched on another layer of rice paper) and stamped with my personal seal.
