Wu Wei Calligraphy: Large Zen Art

This is a large calligraphy of Wu Wei in the Traditional Kanji characters.

Wu Wei (無為) is a concept literally meaning "inexertion", "inaction", or "effortless action" It is an important concept in Chinese statecraft and Taoism, as well as in Zen Buddhism and New Age Philosophy, describing a state of unconflicting personal harmony and free-flowing spontaneity.

I wrote these characters in intentionally rough spontaneous style, using my trusty brush made of bird feathers. I am really proud of this work which I think would look great in any interior. The calligraphy is signed and stamped with my personal seal and with a seal I carved specifically for this project, saying "wei wu wei" ("practice wu wei" or "do non-doing").
