As they represent the four different seasons (the plum blossom for winter, the orchid for spring, the bamboo for summer, and the chrysanthemum for autumn), the four are used to depict the unfolding of the seasons through the year. I used only Japanese sumi ink for this rendering of the Four Nobles, painting the artworks on the highest quality Xian paper.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach painting is stamped with a special stone seal \"Four Nobles\" I made specifically for this project.
