This is an original sumi-e painting of sakura cherry blossoms in black ink, featuring a classic Japanese haiku poem calligraphy.

Sumie (or suibokuga) is an art of Japanese ink painting. This particular painting of cherry blossoms has an inscription of the classic haiku (three-line poem) of the Classic Japanese poet Matsuo Basho that reads:
さまざまの 事おもひ出す 櫻かな
[ Samazama no koto omoidasu sakura kana ]
which can be translated as:
How many, many things
They call to mind
These cherry-blossoms!
The artwork also has imprint of my name seal and a seal that reads "Spring days" also carved by myself.
