This is an original painting of two goldfish painted in golden Japanese ink on black rice paper in Oriental style.

Goldfish in Japanese and Chinese cultures are generally thought to bring a good luck, and this particular painting depicts two fish forming a circle, recembling enso Zen circle or Yin Yang circle, but of course first of all this picture is a symbol of love and harmony, which makes it a perfect gift for a special person. This is not a traditional Japanese sumi-e art, but the painting is done very much in accordance with sumie rules.
